What started as a grassroots family initiative in 2011 has blossomed into an acclaimed theatrical powerhouse.
Elektric Apple achieved national prominence when they became one of the very few disabled theatre companies ever invited to perform at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Inspired by the Peace Wall at the Liverpool Beatles Museum, the event stood as a vibrant reminder that the message John Lennon and Yoko Ono championed continues to resonate. .

A huge thank you for all your work with our children over the past four weeks. I’m sorry I missed you today, but staff have been messaging all evening saying how brilliant the project was and that they’d love to continue it or run it again next year. If you have the capacity, we’d be thrilled to work with you again.

This 14th June, we come together for something truly special — The John Hulley Day, a moment that marks the beginning of an annual tradition honouring one of Liverpool’s great pioneers of sport and community.
Our Impact
For more than two decades, Liverpool Heartbeat has helped young people across Merseyside grow in confidence, creativity and self‑belief. Through workshops, school projects and community events, thousands of children have discovered new skills, new passions and a stronger sense of who they are.
The results show in their stories — young people finding their voice, stepping into leadership, and carrying those early moments of encouragement into adulthood. Year after year, Liverpool Heartbeat continues to prove how powerful creativity, kindness and opportunity can be.
