The John Hulley Collage

The Journey for Peace started with the Collage of John Hulley at The Gateway to Liverpool Lime Street Station

In 2018 on seeing a collage of the First World War by Artist Jane Dixon with the help of students of St Vincent’s. I was so impressed by this piece of art, I asked Dr John Patterson If St Vincent’s could produce another collage this time of John Hulley. Which is now proudly on display in Lime Street Station.
THE JOURNEY FOR PEACE began during St Vincent’s Enrichment Programme, Shenanigans class. Using the Tom Murphy Trail Map, the pupils ‘walked’ their way around the statues of Liverpool, imagining the conversations they might have with the likes of John Hulley and Sir Ken Dodd and the wonderful Journey for Peace was born.
The Essay earned global recognition when it won Lions International Clubs competition and was read out aloud at Westminster and the United Nations in New York, by Shenanigans class member, Joseph Critchlow. The Shenanigans group teamed up with local illustrator Eevee Fox and the comics were born.
