In 2003, whilst attending the West Derby Rotary Club, Robin Baynes was introduced to David Graham.
David Graham is a singer songwriter whose excellent song writing ability has been recognized by the British Academy of Songwriters and Composers, but it wasn’t just David’s musical ability that impressed Robin, it was also the message he was delivering via his Natural High Schools Programme. The NHS Programme was aimed at to raising awareness of the dangers that surround illegal drugs, crime, and anti-social behaviour by delivering a message in a memorable, enjoyable interactive and informative way. This message reflected many of the aims and objectives promoted by Liverpool Heartbeat and this initial meeting was the beginning of a lasting friendship which led to their organisations working together for the next sixteen years. Together they went on to reach 100’s schools, connecting with 1000’s of students across Merseyside and the friendship is as strong today as the day they first met all those years ago at West Derby Rotary Club.
Over the years Liverpool Heartbeat has raised over £30,000 to bring David to schools across Merseyside which has been supported by many Rotary and Lion Clubs across Merseyside together with New Start Social Housing, LFC in the Community and EFC in the Community.
